Attempted to scam me, whats the best way to report the person
Was an attempt to scam me by swapping out an item, in this case a 20/20 Gem with an another item ( A corrupted version of said gem ) and try to scam me.
Obviously I didn't have a stream running at this time so I have no proof but for the next time what steps can i take to completely ruin the reputation of said user, or get them the consequences they deserve for their actions. Last edited by visage#3005 on Jun 11, 2015, 10:54:17 PM

If you were chatting in game you should be able to use the report function there, Or you could take a screen shot of the interaction and email it to support explaining what happened, attempted scamming though won't be punishable...hell actual scamming isn't punishable because at the end of the day the tools are there to prevent it if you pay attention.
If you try to name and shame anywhere on the forum, you'll be the one punished, and ingame it'll probably lead to you being muted Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

I'm all against scam or cheating, but COME ON. That's your own fault, if you'd fall for a guy trying to get an advantage, you really think you ought to report him?
In my opinion that would be an abuse of report for your own cause... Unless there was some ruling about not being allowed to swap gems before trading them... Christmas comes early - The Awakening!

I'm really sorry to hear this happened to you!
In cases like these we encourage you to contact support@grindinggear.com with your report, along with any evidence you have (screenshots etc.). We do not get involved in trade disputes but will keep an eye on any players that have been reported to us, and take any action we see fit. Regarding ruining someone's reputation, I recommend you refrain from posting about them on the forums or in ingame chat, as naming and shaming is not something we allow for multiple reasons. | |
" Attempted scam, It didn't work. This scam has been around since old Diablo 2 days however, thats not the point. Their are plenty of new people starting up every day and something like this could and will work. How is that him trying to get an advantage? Imagine buying something at the store you trust that the cashier puts said object in your bag (Trading Prompt) and then u take it without looking for whatever reason maybe being complacent. Now you get home and realize it isn't what you paid for Wouldn't you be upset? |

" I didn't mention the persons name for reasons mentioned, aka the shaming policy But still some action needs to be taken against such a person and I believe reporting in-game is not enough to get anything done. |

" We do appreciate that you haven't breached that policy. If you encounter this in the future (or wish to report the player to whom you're referring) I do recommend that you email support@grindinggear.com, as we then have a figurative paper trail that can be followed at a later date if need be. |
