Is there a more friendly helpful chat channel? The first 2 seem filled mostly with 12 yr olds.

What kind of help do you need? People on these forums are helpful. The Gameplay Help and Discussion is the place to post questions about how to play if that's what you need.

Honestly...probably not, chat has not been a good place to be since closed beta, as soon as any game is open to the public chat goes to shit.

There is only the general channels, and some custom channels you can find on reddit probably, like farming dailies (I don't remember since it's long ago I did it, but channel 700+ or something; it was very full of helpful teamplayers, for that matter only of course.
Unfortunately. The general chat channel is a place for EVERYONE. And a free game with one global chat..? Yea many nations, many dicks and losers using this opportunity trying to ruin people's fun with the game. I experienced it not only on others but also myself; just trying to have some fun theorizing and trying to discuss ideas about the exciting part of Path of Exile - about builds - with assumed people like yourself . However immediatelly someone from Stone Age calls you out l2p for no reason, etc. So besides of some gameplay reasons, it was - after a longer period of time - a reason for me to leave the game, some time ago. By the way they are alot more nasty in hardcore channels - one noob question: "Omg do you really not know that l2p", "people look up builds?? dumb", like supported from everyone in teh chat1. Which you also notice when you then are nasty yourself and no one answers you anymore, thusly ignored albeit you weren't the one who started. -> There should be a dedicated help channel. A help channel that you join when you are willing to help, have an open mind towards questions, or at at least do not express your dislike if you do not like a question. It should be no problem it is a natural thing, to have this help channel in online games... especially ones that are slightly more difficult and complex: Eve Online is one of those games, it is similiar as interesting as Path of Exile, because you can find alot out about the game's complex stuff. BUT the devs do a very nice job on helping out! Besides of very good tutorials and info-events you got a big Rookie help channel (only for people in first 2 months), normal help channels for different languages, besides of autojoining a npc-"corp" (like a clan) where many newbs are or generally noob-friendly corps, let alone fleet events where devs fly with new players in the game.. To be fair, Eve is a subscription based game. Contrary in PoE you have? A General chat and a Trade chat. "The first thing 2l2p with fun is to not use general chat :) And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

If you want to ask a question the forums is the only place to do it, whether it's this one or another forum like Reddit. Asking questions in global channel in ANY online game will probably solicit immature responses. The most classic example is:
Q: How much is item ABC worth? A1: 1 scroll fragment A2: 999999999999 exalts |

" Haha ;) Anyways, I don't agree. A dedicated help channel usually is without problems, because people only join it if they are willing to help (or they don't troll questions). You don't join a help channel to read stupid questions and then troll. Because let's face it, people trolling newbs in general chat are just pissed off of these assumed stupid questions in an arrogant fashion - because they forget how it is to be unexperienced after 1000 hours of play. That being said there are different levels of experience in games. Like sometimes you have highlevel questions, specific questions about game mechanics that you mostly ask yourself when you get to very difficult areas. And on the other hand there are new-experience questions.. Because of this there can still be people lurking in the help chat on a higher level that are annoyed by newbs. In the end I really appreciate help channels for the matter of short questions or just fast help. Thus I suggest that NEW accounts (you can see this detection in the awakening) would join help channels by default (you can leave at any time), they also mostly help themselves. " ? :D I don't understand. When it is your job to improve the game it doesn't matter if you are lazy. And if your laziness affected your work, what are you doing at charge then? So I doubt your quote was telling the truth, you possibly pulled that out of context.
