Zana Untainted Paradise map is weird and flawed
Of all the Zana mission maps I've played, Untainted Paradise is tops for the most bizarre. It's only a level 66 map (thank goodness) so I can ST and Dual Strike through the mobs quickly but there are a ton of them. Most are insane in quantity and at 17414 dps my DS axe chews threw them and that is insanely fun. What's weird is that when I clear the map and go into the cave the 3 end map bosses are a wimpy letdown because they are level 66 and I'm at level 88 and there are only a few support minions. If there were a few dozen more white or blue support minions for the end bosses then that cave would pose a better challenge.
Also weird is this:
Spoiler
![]() That's right, it says 0 monsters remain but I'm still killing devourers, monkeys, and other leaping creatures (about 15 or 16) before I actually can't find anymore. Also weird is the fact it says +388% XP but since it is only level 66 and my exile is level 88 I'm getting squat for xp killing scores and scores of creatures. Only reason I play it is for the Zana reputation points. So this map is a combination of fun, wimpy cave bosses, little xp gained for killing scores of creatures, and a wrong total creature count. Oh yes, with Devourer packs popping up and surrounding my exile the LeapSlam flaw really bites me hard. You know, when there are large packs and you move the mouse pointer to one side of the screen to jump out of them and all you get is several leaps almost in place (hardly moving any distance) or the dam bugged skill actually does a leap in the opposite direction of where I'm pointing. Total headache time with that bug (only occurs when inside large packs and trying to get the hell out). "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. I guess, the packs keep coming fast and furious which is insanely fun, so I didn't notice how much gem xp I was getting. My main skill gems are already at 20.

I personally think they nerfed it too hard. Yeah, it did make leveling characters in the 70s a bit easier, but it still took just as long 85+.
I guess I've just gotten very, very tired of PoE's time demands the more I've played. But that's a topic for an entirely separate thread. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

hopefully with new zone levels in act 4 they also up the exp back again.
I find it really sad that this was nerfed due to temp league race issues, and I dont quite understand as I think if someone is able to afford and run the map they should have its rewards. Oblivious

For short term races I think they would have been better off just disabling the map. It's quite rare anyway, and the only reason it can be abused in a temp race is if you're buying up slots for it. I think the old untainted paradise was much better. But this ones still pretty good, think last time I had one I got 8 mil gem xp give or take. That's like 8 level 75+ maps in one. Pretty efficient. Course it used to be 20-24 mil gem xp in a run, which made the lack of loot drops interesting.
Alas, the nerf is probably here to stay, even with new content, because untainted paradise still has its niche as a gem xp farm. The next best thing would be the alluring abyss, followed by the apex of sacrifice. Only problems with the alluring abyss is that it's really hard to do, and rather annoying to get the mortal set. |

" Golden! :D Trying to satisfy the whole PoE community is like telling a nymphomaniac to only have sex once in a week.
I think that's fairly accurate. :') |
