GGG please make your game compatible with Nvidia cards!

A lot of people have huge problems with the game on the notebook versions of graphics cards Nvidia (such as the GT 630M, GT 540M etc). Forced choice Nvidia Card through Nvidia control panel does not help.

The problem looks like this (Arch linux. Wine 1.5.4):

And this (MacOS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 Hackintosh. Cedega):

AND THIS!!! (WTF???) (Oh! It's new clear fresh installed Win 7! And it's really awful)

Make a game compatible with Nvidia cards!

P.S. And why windows game works on Win 7 is worse than on Linux and Mac via Wine?

P.P.S. It's run on Lenovo G580. Intel Core i5 2 x 2.5 Ghz. Hybrid GPU (Optimus): Nvidia GeForce GT 630M + Intel HD 4000. 4 GB Ram.

In Game - Variance Shadow, AA 4, AF4, High Textures. 1366*768 fullscreen. VSync - off.

Hey,

I'm running on a GT 660M and had similar frame rate spike issues.

It seems on my 660M (this isn't limited to POE) there seems to be an issue on the way the card scales when it is trying to manage power consumption, or when the card believes it can scale back the GPU because it thinks its not being pushed.

I'd be interested to know if the following settings help you as much as they smoothed out my experience.

Currently I am running the 313.96 drivers with the following settings in game and in the NVIDIA Panel:

POE:
- 1920x1080
- Windowed Fullscreen (Important if I want to run with v sync, major issues with spikes in straight Fullscreen)
- V sync on
- Everything else maxed
- FPS in town a flat 49FPS (I have to back off the Anti-aliasing to get back to a smooth 60FPS in windowed fullscreen mode)

NVIDA Panel:
- Preferred Graphics Processor - NVIDIA
- Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximum Performance
- Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration - Single display performance mode
- Threaded Optimization - On
- V sync - Application Controlled

Power Plan Settings:
- High Performance Plan
- All plugged in CPU states set to 100%
- Anything else turned to Maxed/Always On when plugged in on this plan - USB/Wireless/HD etc.

From my experimentation it looks like when running in Fullscreen mode the card starts backing off GPU power when v sync is on, this is very similar to an issue I had with Diablo 3 before I made a custom profile for it with the above settings. My FPS spikes pretty much matched my monitored GPU usage graph in MSI Afterburner.

However in POE if I want v sync I have to run in windowed fullscreen, without v sync the above settings work with fullscreen and give a perfomance boost but I'm not a fan of the tearing.

TL;DR:

NVIDIA Card incorrectly scaling back the GPU power in POE, try above settings in windowed fullscreen and tweak from there.

Good luck.
