Need help with shadow DW dagger build!
Hello.
I have been playing this game for like 2 weeks, i have got a shadow with level 40, but its shit. I recently created an another shadow, and i want it to have dual daggers with high DPS,movement speed and hitting speed(idk how its called lol). I have no idea which passive skills should i take and which not from the beginning. Thanks whoever helps me. |

Ok, that's pretty straightforward, grab a lot of life, dagger clusters that have crit, attack speed, more crit, that ranger aura cluster to squeeze one more aura in and you're almost set.
You then need to pick your main skill, dual strike with splash is always a good option but reave and molten or static strike are appealing too. The main decision will be whether to stack dw block or just say screw the whole thing and take acrobatics, that's probably what I'd do. If you still need a detailed guide there are plenty dual-wield shadows in shadow section. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Thanks for reply @raics.
sorry but i have no idea how to put "Splash" or other powers in the skills. Can you tell me how to do it?. I want to have high evasion rating so i will go for acrobatics. Also which path should i follow given in the pic: blue or red?: ![]() Last edited by MystoganMoons#5801 on Jan 3, 2015, 10:03:01 AM

It's a fairly simple choice, if you intend to stack frenzy charges you should go blue and if you don't you should take red path, it's shorter. Of course, I hope you don't intend to actually use those from the example, skipping those nice shadow starting nodes is a crime :)
And melee splash is a support gem, you jut need to pit it in an item slot that is linked to your main skill. If you need basic stuff like that check out the beginner guide the stickied one in this section. Also check out frequently asked questions on poe wiki. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Decided to follow these nodes. I wanna hear peoples opinions if its a good idea and hear some suggestions |

From your node choice I assume you want to play lightning strike. If that's the case you don't need both physical and elemental investment, LS deals converted elemental damage which is based on physical and will also be affected by physical nodes.
Also, you're taking some melee and then some projectile nodes. If playing dual wield lightning strike it's much more efficient to take dagger nodes, one-handed nodes or dual-wield nodes, they affect your melee attack and projectiles as well. That's a good general guideline, if you can choose take what benefits you the most. Remark number 2 and probably the reason your first shadow sucked is you got no life there, absolutely none. And it's essential, you need absolutely every life passive you pass by, and then some that you don't pass by. I'm not kidding here, every single one. It seems that you took the advice regarding the Shadow start nodes a bit too literally. What raics meant was: take the nodes that help your build from the starting area, not take them all ;).
Judging from your choice of going dualwield daggers i assume that you want to focus mainly on dps which means playing in a softcore league like Torment so my advice is based on that assumption. First of all: You need (and by need i mean that it cannot work without!) some increased maximum life from passives. Otherwise you will die a lot and when you get to Cruel and Merciless difficulty that means loosing exp. There is no such thing as a pure damage dealer build in PoE and you always have to find a balance between offense and defense. An evasion/dodge based build with high damage output can do with around 120% increased maximum life in endgame but most other builds will aim for ~140% and 160%+ more for tanky ones. You should also focus on either physical or elemental damage and either melee or ranged although you can do sort of a hybrid if you use Spectral Throw as your main skill. At this point i would highly suggest that you either plan your build a little ahead or read some FAQ here and beginner guides in the Shadow section of the class forum! Once you have a bit better understanding on what you want and need to do do make your build work, read on. More specific build advice: At this point i will assume that you have a better understanding on what kind of build you want to make so i will give you a few pointers on how to start and make it work later on. By now you should have decided on what skill to use, like for example Dual Strike, and have a basic understanding on how support gems work. If this isn't the case, just check out the PoE Wiki. The basic concept of build progression is to first grab what you need from your starting area and then move on to nearby clusters and other classes starting areas to complement your build. The bigger notable passive points generally provide much higher boni than regular passives so you want to first focus on getting all the notables and keystones (the really big skillpoints like Acrobatics etc) and then get the smaller ones after that if you need more of a certan skillpoint cluster. This is an eaxmple of how your build could look like with the same amount of skillpoints spend in like in the one you posted. It has some damage, life, evasion, crit and already has the Arcobatics cluster so it features a lot of what your build will need later on and could be considered a mini-version of what it could look like in endgame. Going from there you could then progress like this in the subsequent levels by taking one of the dagger clusters, mana leech as well as some more evasion and your second keystone, Ondar's Guile. Now you have a good basis for getting to some of the other stats that you will need later on like more strength to be able to use the support gems you need and can then decide to either go for the Ranger starting area first or get some more dagger nodes, advancing from this point. This is an example of how your build could then look like in endgame with a big focus on damage. By eaxmple mean that there are of course many other variants that will produce a similar damage output and survivability like for example skipping the central dagger cluster and instead going for the dualwield crit nodes in the lower section (Twin Terrors) or getting another health or evasion cluster and so on. 11.02.2013 - 11.02.2017: four year PoE anniversary!
