Steam wallet/Poe/Steam

Just wondering if I can use Steam wallet without having to download the steam version of PoE. Got some spare funds in steam wallet which is most likely going to go on stash tabs (because stash tabs seem like such a QoL improvement). Do we have to have Steam PoE Version to do so? I don't want to download another X amount of space for the steam version due to internet data capacity.

can't you just try? I mean what can go wrong, if you don't have the game on steam you can just find out...

If you want to spend Steam Wallet points on the game, then YES, you have to launch the game THROUGH Steam, and you have to purchase the items in-game while running the Steam overlay.
This means that if you don't already have your account linked to Steam, you will also need to do that FIRST BEFORE running Path of Exile in Steam. If you run PoE in Steam before linking it, it will create a NEW account attached to that Steam account, and then when you realize that it's the wrong account and go to link your Web account to Steam, you'll end up losing access to your Web account as well until Support can help you. So please, if you are going to try PoE within Steam, link your accounts first. Do that before doing anything else with Steam and PoE. Then you won't run into issues accessing your account, etc. Good luck. |

Hi there,
For some reason i have 20€ in my steam wallet and i want to spend them on Path of exile. Is it possible and if so how to do that ? I launched the game through steam, but i can't understand how to buy item or anything after that. I am not a great user of steam, never bought anything with it.. Can i buy a pack if i add like 30€ to buy the 50€ pack ? Best regards. |
