Elemental Split Arrow

Has anyone else used the Physical to Lightning gem with SA? I've been trying out a few things and I feel it is much stronger than Tornado Shot was last patch.

Gems:
Aura and buffs: Blood Rage, Hatred, Herald of Ice, and Herald of Ash. (If you have a hard time with mana take Herald of Ice off it isn't that large of an increase).

Optional gems: Switching out Physical Proj for Fork. Possibly Chain but Chain + Weapon Ele is hard on the mana. I'm pretty sure pierce with or without drillneck would be nice too.

Pros: HIGH dps. Self buffed with flask I have 150-170k tooltip dps. In HO my dps shows ~90k. Very little mana problems. Phys reflect is not a big problem so you can spec out of Vaal Pact.

Downsides: Gear requirements are fairly high and ele reflect HURTS. Can't fit in a Crit Dmg gem but with the recent nerf... meh not that big of a deal.

I'm not trying to make a guide but if you have some questions feel free to ask.

I'd like to see the tree for this, I've also noticed that adding and converting phys to ele dmg could be insane with the WED gem. Also, do you feel like you leech enough life with just physical leech? With these gems, around 85%+ of your damage should be elemental.

I'm a duelist but a ranger would be better off. My current tree. With a 20/20 or higher blood rage I have enough physical and life leech to be okay. I also have a good amount of Chaos resist. helps with reflect.

No. I use above average resist + life boots. With Maligaros and Rats Nest I need all the resist and life I can get. Your build looks good to me. If I were to change anything it would be be switching out some of those acc nodes for the rest of the life nodes.

ya i very much notice that phys to lightning is seriously an amazing gem. at level ONE with 0% quality it gave both my builds more DPS than a 19/20 crit dmg gem.

in fact, i used to be windripper elemental build but swapped to a physical harbinger bow and converted all dmg to elemental with some elemental nodes and WED the dmg is MUCH higher than windripper.

i guess ur using a Glyph Mark Harbinger Bow ?

You guessed correct. But other high phys bows will do fine.
