is shock a more multiplier???!!?
hi guys
is shock a more multiplier what im trying to work out is if u stand on shocked ground or are shock how much reflect damage do u take 50% more or increased, trying to work out the math behind it as well. i was talking to a friend about how shock effects reflect and he says shock was NOT a 50% more multiplier, but that it acts like say . . 50% increase damage that add on to your other increase damage things such as passives or weapon elemental damage and that it was changed to increase damage in a patch that i missed i thought this was wrong and it is a more multiplier like righteous fire more spell damage multiplayer or pain attunement. i also looked at http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Shock to try and confirm how the shock works and it said " Shock is an elemental status ailment associated with lightning that causes the affected target to take 50% increased damage from all sources." so is it 50% increased damage or 50% more damage multiplier can someone please 100% confirm which it is thanks in advance ALSO i hope this is the right place to ask this on http://www.pathofexile.com/forum Last edited by holtj#0650 on Dec 26, 2014, 4:17:36 AM

yes and no
it affects damage enemies take, which is different modifier than damage you deal.. so if shock is the only effect that affects damage taken on enemies, then it is a straight more multiplier but it stacks additively with other "enemy damage taken" modifiers, like ie vulnerability.. as I said, you take 50% more, in case you dont have any other source of damage taken modifiers
if you have lvl 20 vulnerability curse on you and shocked, you take 50% + 29% = 79% increased damage from phys reflect (which is most likely 79% more) ______________ it says "increased", thus all modifiers stack into one multiplier. "more" is always multiplier. The reason shock is often said to be a multiplier is that thare are only handfull of "damage taken" mods -> it has nothing to stack with -> has same effect as "more" multiplier IGN: Eric_Lindros
