About the Scion...

Alright, lore thread.

We all know about her annoying voice, right?
Sirens have screech, which reduces movement speed. Scion's voice slows down our mouse hand, at least it slows down mine. Scion can hear Merveil's daughters' voices when the singing squids die, as if they were connected somehow.

Next, Scion has this nightmare thingy. Icius Perandus refers to Oversoul/Cataclysm as waking nightmare, Scion taunts rare monsters along the lines of 'Go to bed, little nightmare!'.
Go to bed, waking, they're related. Although we know (or at least it's what GGG wants us to think) rare monsters don't turn into mini Oversouls, Scion has something with Oversoul.

Now, we find little squids just before Pyramid, hinting at Merveil back again. Vaal? Squids?
We all know about Her Tittiness going nuts by corruption, while Merveil went nuts because of a necklace. The Vaal loved gems, even more than the Empire. Necklaces often have jewellry, gem equals jewel, so vaal gem necklace? The explanation behind this is the 'CORRUPTED' modifier in vaal gems.

Back to Scion, if Merveil turned into a singing squid by Vaal gems, couldn't this mean Scion is slowly becoming a squid while we use GMP + Vaal Spark? Her voice is as annoying as one, she has this Oversoul nightmares, and she inexplicably has a permanent wound on her leg. Is it possible that tentacles start growing from that wound?

We conclude that Scion is slowly becoming a Vaal Siren and vaal gems are bad.

All the virtue gems corrupt the people using them.

Re: Spoiler 1 if this was true, shouldn't we find the pyramuid boss to be the Homer Oversoul? Or were you suggesting, he was Homer beforw the socketed snacks consumed him as he consumed them?

Would this mean that Atziri = Marge?

The absolute corruption of Wraeclast makes sense if we are looking at the Bartaclysm.
