The templar's shoulders faulty rigging
|
At first I thought the templar just had really droopy shoulders and kind of twists them towards his chest, but just now I've come to realize that this is not the case.
The problem is in the rigging of the Templar's arms. While most other characters seem quite normal with their rigid shoulder guards and spaulders, the Templar's seem to stretch and be otherwise rubbery. Exhibit A: ![]() Here we have an ordinary witch in her Chain Hauberk next to a Templar. Notice how the Templar's shoulders are deformed compared to the witch's and how the spaulder sinks into his chest. That is because the shoulders are stuck to the parts of the model's skeleton that aren't supposed to be in fluid movement and causes some other problems as well. I took another picture to show exactly what this causes among other things and found the Battle Lamellar to be the perfect armor to show this off: http://i.imgur.com/w5z0F1R.png While normally, for the other characters, the pauldron would be covering the whole upper arm but for the Templar it is twisted almost a whole 90 degrees and is clipping with the chest. The faulty rigging also causes problems for armors with no shoulder guards. For example the quilted jacket: http://i.imgur.com/Vcksn0l.png Notice how the twisting of the arm causes the bare flesh to clip with the jacket. Although it's only aesthetic, the fact that the issue doesn't seem to exist for the other classes makes me uneasy and though I do not know how complicated it is to fix I'm confident the development team is more than able to correct this. I'll pass this on to the artist who rigs our armour, and see if he can fix it up!

Also not shown in those screenshots the right arm while dual wielding gets completely squashed and deformed.
