How does piercing work with explosive arrows?

So far it seems like with things like fork, or chain, the explosive arrow will go through the first couple and when it lands it leaves it's charge.

but if you use the passive piercing, piercing will just keep going, and not leave any charges.

is this correct?

From the PoE Wiki: "Piercing: Explosive Arrow projectiles which pierce will not leave charges (and explode) on each target they pierced. Only on the target where the arrow gets stuck will the charge explode."

Passive and Support Piercing should have the same effect so the arrows will leave charges as soon as they stop piercing through targets.
