Quick question about screenshots
I'm pretty sure I have read that they are taken with the F8 key and land in the PoE folder named screenshots.
I recently tried this and could not locate the screenshot folder. My wife literally murdered my c: drive with her iphone garbage so I installed on e: Is it possible this is why the folder was not created or do I need to look elsewhere? Any help would be appreciated! give us it DanAbnormal All generalizations are false.

It should be in <Installation Path>\Path Of Exile\Screenshots\
For me, this is D:\games\Path Of Exile\Screenshots\ For you it could be E:\Path Of Exile\Screenshots\ depending on where you installed exactly. If all else fails, you could try a search for screenshot-0000.png which is the default name for your first screenshot. Urist McDwarfy has been happy lately. He admired an exceptional ARPG recently. Tried the search... no avail, will try maybe installing later, but if it worked for you on d: then it doesn't make sense. Gonna look into the whole f8 thing and maybe even try redirecting the hotkey. has this ever worked with the print screen button? or will that be an image format they don't use? I am pretty new with computers and such so I'm not sure. Thank you for the help however!

After reading this, I decided to take a look to see where the SS folder was located on my drive. For me I just right click the program & open the file location. I was surprised to find out that there was no SS folder located in PoE file. The SS folder is created in the file once a SS is taken in-game.
I'm not sure if this helps you or not. "What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof."

If all else fails, you can use Fraps.

" Good find mdavis588. I didn't realize it was created only after your first screenshot. If you did not successfully take a screenshot for whatever reason, then both the screenshot folder and the file do not exist yet. If you are talking about using the normal Print Screen button functionality for windows, it IS working for me in PoE. But I'm also running Windows 7 with PoE on only 1 of 2 displays. You could try the Print Screen button followed by pasting into your favorite image editing software (or Paint, which is usually included with windows, if you must) and see what happens. Or Fraps is good too, if you prefer movies to images. Urist McDwarfy has been happy lately. He admired an exceptional ARPG recently. He took joy in slaughter lately. Use steam, this way you can dirctly and fast upload your images into the cloud and don't have to use image hosting services.

That pretty much did it, but I think I lost my original SS. Is it possible the first time f8 is pressed the folder is created and once it's pressed a second time the first ss is taken? And if this is the case would this be considered a bug?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help give us it DanAbnormal All generalizations are false.

" That would be a bug yes.. we've taken a lot of screenshots though and have never seen this behaviour (of losing the first screenshot), so if you find a way to reproduce it let us know. | |
As much as I'd hate to uninstall and then reinstall and then wait :oP bah I'm in the beta and it's part of the job... will post if I get the same result. I dunno if I can "prove" whether or not the first SS is taken so if it happens again I'd hope it would be taken into account and tested. So far, the SSes are coming out perfectly, it's just the first one that threw me off.
give us it DanAbnormal p.s. I will post the results, if undesired, in the bug forum. All generalizations are false.
