shock nova and frost nova

In all honesty these gems just plain suck as a self cast they really are no good.
They could be good if they where attached to a gem that continously cast for a mana degen. Like the shrines you get.

This is just a small attempt to get these gems modified allow them to be incorporated in to end game builds


this + herald of ice would like to have a word with you

it clears very very quickly. the key to it is AOE scaling. so small hit hitting lots of mobs == lots of dmg output

use something else for single target

shock nova also deals good damage, it is the dead zone in the middle that makes it no-go

ice nova very under rated blows every pure caster build away ime and i played them all from arc to incinerate.

Shock Nova is a different story.. no more shock stack really screwed all lightning builds and hole in the middle yeah its crappy.

Awh cool never seen that frost nova I retract that state ment but I still hold shock nova as a piece of crap and u could say storm call is a close second.

+1 to Shock Nova sucking, though.
ice nova is fine, it just has low base dmg thus requires added damage gem. it has some utility uses too

shock nova is probably one of the least used skills. the inner circle doing nothing it the reason I think.. needs some rework IMO. It could have 2 separate effects, for example inner circle having high chance to shock and no damage, outer circle damage.. But Im pretty sure devs will come with a better idea:)

edit: just realised shock without damage does not exist:).. so, inner circle with less damage + shock chance + shock duration

Couldn't you get a Romira's and use Cold Snap instead and be pretty much better bar the quality bonus on Ice Nova?

Casts faster, casts at range, more freeze chance, more damage, less mana. Less AoE, I suppose.

I mean, if you can afford a 6L you can afford a Romira's.

Shock Nova really is the most useless skill. I lie the idea of either giving it a duration as a reserve buff, or making it create shocking ground. Either one would give it a purpose and at the moment it has none.

Ice Nova is fine.
Ya after seeing super nova ice nova is fine. I hold what I say about shock nova.

I'm attempting a build with it now ill see how it holds up and keep you posted once I know it works lol.

One thing that could make shock nova viable is have it work like artic armour as in it toggles on and keeps casting as long as you can sustain mana. This would make it unique and help work around dead zone as you can move for it to affect other people also it would work in with alot of other builds.
