Monster health changes in party members leaving / joining
|
Hi there.
Iv been searching the forums and google, but i didnt come up with a good explantion on how and exactly when does monster health change in party play. Ofc there is the wiki that states monsters get +60% health per party member, but im not clear as to when exactly the change is applied. - when a party opens the portals initally? (talking about maps) - when a party member joins the instance - when a party member leaves the instance - when a player joins the party (still outside the instance) - when a player leaves the party (outside the instance) My feeling is that mob health goes up "on the fly" when someone joins, but doesnt go down "at all" when someone leaves.... The main reason i am asking is that very often a party clears the map, but then some players skip the boss (or RIP during early boss fight). Which makes killing the boss really hard as he has the extra health. So i was wondering if there is a "proper" procedure to get the boss to match the proper health for the few party member that will actually attack him.... like "leave party before deccending final stairs" or "leave map together and reenter with fewer players to reset health" or whatever. Any tips welcome. Thanks Deagle |

I'm fairly certain it changes on the fly whenever someone enters or leaves a zone, and it uses a percentage of max life to determine what to change a monster's current life to in the event that someone RIPs or leaves the map before the fight is over.
For boss fights, anyone who isn't going to participate should just leave the map. Whether that's before or after the rest of the party enters the room doesn't really matter. Also, anyone who dies in a tough boss fight should resurrect immediately, because enemies are still gaining the party bonus from the dead player in the RIP screen. That's been my experience anyway.
