Offline Mode

Will there ever be an actual offline mode when the game releases? Since I'm wondering just in case a person loses internet connection and wants to play the game...

nope
Nope. None of your account data (characters, items, etc) is saved locally. The game client is highly reliant on the server for information. This is all done by design to prevent the sort of hacks that plagued D2. People can't hack what's not on their local computer.

That's a damn shame. I was hoping some clever soul could figure out some way to make the client connect to your own locally hosted server, therefore giving us a blessed single player/offline game.
Diablo 3 is the same way right? And people are already working on a private version.

If you have people commuted enough, trying hard enough, it will happen.

Depends on the game, jamming packets can cause dupe issues in some.

I don't really know the details but I do know that GGG has a couple of people working to crack the game files and generally find exploits so that they can be fixed. The popularity and profitability of the game hinges on keeping it as secure as possible.

Good to hear. Hacking is inevitable though, in any game. Hopefully this one doesn't have a huge problem of it, and you can handle the rats quickly! :o

I love reading comments like this!!! I hate it when gaming companies ignore hacking issues.
Running isn't freedom. You should know that.
