are you saying it doesnt work, or shouldnt work ?

It works, but because of it's low innate damage and being lightning which has high and low hit's i don't think it would be a smart option/investment.

Disregarding the obvious mana reservation + multiplier of LL which is a bad move in itself.

Best link to tempest shield is iron will, since it has no cost multiplier and tempest is not effected by cast speed (other then activating it), so basically a free link if your using tempest shield.

Use blind instead. Assuming you have high block+ spell block ( cant imagine tempest shield being worth while other wise), it's amazing. Life leech...is not amazing.
As said above it's damage is too low.

The damage is indeed quite low but I doubt it's going to be non-existent if you are a lightning character yourself. Life leech multiplier only puts it at 32% reserved and then a lvl 15 reduced mana brings it to 24% (23% lvl 18, 22% lvl 21) which really isn't that bad if you are max block. You can then link it to blind and iron will in a 4L as well.

To make tempest shield a truly effective "poor mans aegis" you need vaal pact and add some damage to it (added chaos works). If you have any other leech on your main skill, the negligible leech on tempest will get overwritten instead. Tempest hits quite quickly and for poor damage, LGOH would work best on it, but alas it doesnt work with it. (cybils would, i guess)

Crits and stuff work well here too, it has a base 6% crit, so it can crit quite often.


IMHO the base damage of the skill needs a buff. It would have so many uses if it did some properish damage.

Yes it's broken. Has been for a long time to.


It's brokenes really shines in PvP FYI. Especialy if the attacer is crit based.
