Character Names

Checked the Faq's thread and looked around the forums a bit. Is there a link somewhere about allowed characters in the Character name? If not does anyone have the set of rules it follows? Thanks.

sorry but NOT helpful.... I'm not looking for the "insulting vugluar illeage stuff not allowed" but More of a the letters a-z A-Z 0-9 - _ " " and etc are allowed? and thats not right cause i know - and spaces aren't allowed, just wondering what is allowed?

generally if it is in the area of harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature, GGG will probably want to change your name. I have seen some pretty (in my own subjectivity) obscene names that contain foul language that we will allow, but since I am not the one with the final decision (remember it says it is up to GGG's sole discretion) some names are allowed which I personally wouldnt allow.
But I would stress not to make a name that would be considered one of the bold above, GGG dont like anything like that. Allowable characters (as far as I know): A-Z, a-z, as well as underscores only '_' Numbers/other character will not work |

You won't find documentation on this, just punch keys until you get what you want. It's a name, not a contract.

From experience, it's the alphabet, no numbers, and only underscore.
The rest won't work. Which is why I used to be amused when people asked if the (Mod) tag was fake. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Thank you, Wish they would have that info on the pop up when they say invalid characters >< well yay, now i know how to do my names I can work with it. :)

Today when creating my first character, I gave him a first and surname. I used letters only with no hyphenation or symbols and "The character name contains invalid characters" was shown. After perusing the forum on this issue, I didn't find any rules for naming characters listed as to how many characters are accepted in the name. Is it too many letters? What letter length are we allowed, and is first name or first and last names acceptable?
I have the game up and running and after I post this, I'll attempt to name him omitting the space between the names to see if that works. Kindest regards to all |

you can enter special characters like:
ãáàâçéêíõóôúü they are Portuguese accent letters but there are probably more allowed characters also |
