Does herald of ash work with spells?

Question is in the title but im wondering if i can proc the aoe effect of herald of ash with a fire spell?
Yes, with any kind of hit actually, type and element doesn't matter.

If you use a physical spell like EK you will get the damage bonus too.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Ty you just made a theory of mine viable.
Are you sure about that, raics? Herald of Ice works with spells and says as much on the gem. Herald of Ash specifies attacks in the description on the gem.

Heh, dunno what I was thinking. You're absolutely right, you have to use an attack skill to trigger overkill effect.

It's their design sense again, it sometimes completely stumps me, in this case I probably saw no valid reason to make this attack-exclusive. Unlike ice herald in which we got a buff that can add flat damage to spells, this one doesn't even add anything new to the table.
