Strongbox Crafting
In case you didn't know: You not only can identify unidentified Strongboxes before opening them, but if you're not happy with the properties of a Strongbox, you can add some, alter them and even make a grey box into a rare one by using an Orb of Alchemy on it. You cannot change the base type of a box, so an Arcanist's Strongbox will always remain an Arcanist's Strongbox.

Well the ambush players know this but many still don't.
My piece of advice: Roll those: Artisan (can drop gcp) Arcanist (dropped exalt for me in ambush) Gemcutters (got 2 q20 gems once from box) Cartographers (witnessed 4x 78 maps and 3x 77maps from 1 box once) The rolls we looking for, from my experience: artisan arcanist >>> +x items dropped or contains +x quantity gemcutters have xx quality cartographers +x items or contains xx quantity +level of items +mirrored items (double drops) In ambush I used to roll carto's with chaos orbs untill I got some of these. let's say u wast 6c on cartobox, worth it if 3x 76 and 1x77 drop... If anyone has more and better hints, feel free to share em Vorici can shove his fuse up his [removed]

" Really? What does Vaaling do to a strongbox? Never tried it. |

" Vaaling a strongbox is the equivalent of using a vaal orb on every single item within it. It's one of the best ways to get 6L items... but, on the other hand, even if you do get a 6L, it will be corrupted, so I hope you really like what rolled on it. Otherwise, you get to Vendor it for a divine orb (or if it's "ok", sell it to another player) Blacksmith and Armorsmith boxes are great for vaal, as is Jewelry boxes. Don't EVER vaal a gemcutters though ;p #1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback". #2 rule: Never say the #1 rule in an official capacity. Let some guy on the forums say it, leaving yourself plausible deniability. Last edited by themousemaster#2051 on Aug 29, 2014, 1:17:47 PM
