"Vaal skills can no longer be supported by Trigger Gems."

I tried Vaal Cyclone + Cast on Melee Kill + Detonate Dead and I have yet to see a proc of detonate dead, can anyone confirm this?

I asked a few days ago if the patch notes would affect builds like that, but they said that Vaal skills will not get triggered by "Cast on X" skills (ala Cast when Damage Taken + Vaal Immortal Call), however, "Vaal Cyclone + Cast on Melee Kill + Detonate Dead" should work, yet I keep failing to proc it (with 66% chance), has anyone tried to see if similar set ups successfully work?

I am not using Detonate Dead, I am using Vaal Cyclone, which is a Melee skill, trying to trigger Detonate Dead. If I try with Discharge I assume it would not work either because Discharge isn't a melee skill so what is the purpose of Cast on Melee kill then?

This set up used to work before Forsaken Masters.

Cast on Melee kill is supposed to use a Melee skill gem (Vaal Cyclone) to trigger a Spell skill gem (detonate dead).

Maybe it is a bug preventing it to happen?

The question is Is it intentional for Cast on Melee Kill, and to a Lesser extent Cast on Critical Strike and Curse on Hit, to not work when linked to a Vaal attack.

"Vaal gems can no longer be Supported by Trigger gems." makes it obvious (to those who realize the attack is supported) that this won't work, but is it meant to work that way, or was it something overlooked/acceptable secondary effect of disabling CwS/CwDT and Vaal Spells.

I think it is intentional. Pretty sure I saw it in the patch notes.

How would Cast on Melee Kill not apply to Detonate Dead, especially since Detonate Dead works with Cast When Stunned and Cast When Damage Taken?

All of the proc gems cast spells/casts, and Detonate Dead is a cast.

You can't cast Vaal spells with trigger gems, nor Vaal "attack gems" can't trigger CoCS, CurseOnHit and CoMK

I'm fully aware that this thread is about Vaal gems, but perhaps you haven't understood what was said.
