Chaos resist? Where in the tree and strategy
In Beyond, I almost died to a mob in the Chamber of Sins because he was doing lots of chaos damage. Seems to be more common early on in this league than when I was playing hardcore before.
I was looking through the tree and couldnt seem to find any chaos resist clusters. What part of the tree are they in? And are there any other tips for this resist besides being lucky on some random item affixes? Thanks
" Use the search box. Besides that, chaos resistance is supposed to be a "luxury", as far as I know. It's hard to get and the best ways are either from the passive skill tree, good rolls on items, or certain uniques. |

I'm getting all resist nodes. This frees up my gear to have chaos resists on it. Also, Dusktoe

the chaos damage nodes to the east of the scion have them (total of 17%)
and the health nodes towards the north west of templar tree have them (these have 20% in total) |

" Thanks I did not know about the search function in the passive tree on the path of exile website.
As a general rule of thumb, each point of chaos resist is about as hard to obtain as a point of 'resist all elements', but generally less useful (because chaos damage is much less common than elemental damage, chaos can't be reflected, and chaos damage mobs generally do a lot less raw damage than elemental mobs). It's therefore something you can only really afford to focus on after you have capped (and maybe even overcapped) your elemental resists.
There are very few chaos resist nodes on the passive tree, and none of them are strong enough to justify travelling more than a few nodes to pick them up. If you are a life build near the Purity of Flesh cluster, I suggest taking it, and the chaos resist nodes near Method to the Madness are perhaps worth taking if you are going that way anyway. Otherwise you're going to have to get chaos resist from gear, if at all. BearCares' suggestions are good: if chaos resist is important to your build, get *elemental* resist passives to give yourself more flexibility in items. Some uniques come with a lot of chaos resist, but they tend to be expensive and have significant downsides, e.g. Ming's Heart. Last edited by Incompetent#3573 on Aug 24, 2014, 4:17:57 AM
