Alternative to downloader client
Sooooo my laptop has been sorta KIA and atm I have a school issued laptop that does not let anyone (teachers included) download things the direct way. I was wondering if anyone knows whether the installer is necessary or if I just need the files to launch the updater and play. And it would be much appreciated if someone knows where the files have been uploaded so I can download them.

I have no idea what you mean by "download by the direct way".
can you download stuff but not install it, or what exactly do you mean? If you can't download things, how do you plan to get poe on there? USB drive? |

Pretty much anything with an installer is a no-go. I "can" download things but when it comes time to run an installer I don't have authorization.

The installer just downloads them from the website using standard http.
Example: http://patch101.pathofexile.com:8095/patch/1.1.5.7/PathOfExile.exe The installer then packs most of the files into the Content.ggpk archive. The ports PoE needs open (outgoing TCP) are: 80 6112 8095 <- patcher 12995 20481 The game will run if you copy it from another installed copy, there's no need for registry entries. If you can't download the file I linked above, then try installing from Steam. |
