Lightning Strike Skill
So I really like this skill and want to plan a build on it. I have a couple of questions though.
1. Does elemental and spell damage add to the lightning damage 2. Does strength apply to the damage 3. Does projectile damage apply to the damage 4. Am I reading it wrong and can someone explain what makes this skills dps go up? Thanks! |

" Any modifiers that increase elemental damage will increase the lightning portion of the damage from Lightning Strike, including the projectiles. This skill is an attack, not a spell and thus will not be increased by spell bonuses. " A bonus to damage from Strength will be applied to the melee component of the attack, but not to the projectiles. You can take the Iron Grip passive skill if you want to add your Strength bonus to your projectiles. " Projectile damage only applies to what the projectiles hit, which does not include the target of the melee attack. However, if you hit with the melee component of the attack, the projectiles are guaranteed to hit whatever mobs they collide with. " The damage delivered by this skill is based on the weapon you are using to perform the attack. Also, as the level increases in level, it gains a modest increase to damage. edit: typo Last edited by Ladderjack#2496 on Feb 1, 2013, 4:17:11 PM

Perfect! Thanks for explaining that a little better. I am going to guess that templar would be the best class to build this from, seems to have most of what I would want to make the skill viable?

" Glad I could help. =) I would suggest checking out the Mechanics thread in the Beta General Discussion forum. Search for "status ailments" and read up on how to shock your opponents and what that does for you and your party. Shock is strong but you need to build for it if you're wanting it to trigger with any appreciable regularity. |

Will do!. The skill reminds me a lot of javzons from d2. It seems like it would be a lot of fun to play with!
