Help me simplified the understanding of Firestorm "DPS"
|
Guys,
Please help me understand on how does average Firestorm DPS in game works? Summary of my character skill : Firestorm Gems L20 / Q20 = 16.25 fireball per cast AVG Damage Firestorm (as on tooltip) = 2066 My cast per second = 1.70 Does my calculation correct as I assume per second "average" damage I can do as below? : 2066 * 1.7 * 16.25 = 57073.5 DPS ??? Thanks |

No, 1,7 is already factored in DPS number, and you can multiply it with 16 only if all fireballs hit the same target, which is pretty much impossible.
So you need to also multiply it with the coverage factor, which is 'explosion area' / 'meteor area' Area that meteors fall in has a radius of 25, so its area is 625 Explosion radius is 9, so its area is 81 So, coverage factor per meteor is 81 / 625 = 0,12 (if we ignore explosions that go beyond the threat area, we probably don't need that kind of precision) So your true (average) dps per target would be 2066 * 16 * 0,12 = 3966 DPS Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs. ◄[www.moddb.com/mods/balancedux]► ◄[www.moddb.com/mods/one-vision1]► Last edited by raics#7540 on May 9, 2014, 4:18:50 AM

Thats help me a lot. Thanks for the explanation. But can you tell me whats the "true" DPS if I linked the gems with the support Concentrated Effect - as per your explanation on factored coverage area?

" Coverage factor stays roughly the same if you change both radii by the same percentage, there is some difference due to rounding issues at some values but it's nothing significant. So you just multiply dps by whatever bonus damage concentrated effect grant you. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
