Strength >> energy shield?

As topic says. For example, i have life/es/armor Templar and i was wondering maybe i should go for "chaos inoculation", but i have over 300 strength, that would be a huge waste of life if going for "CI". What about passive skill or an item which would convert life from strength into energy shield? What do you think?

EDIT: in other words - an item/passive skill which would make strength to give ES instead of life.

You gotta make sacrifices to make your build work sometimes. I made a sword/summoner Scion and i only got the summoner passives done not to mention what it takes to get the sword nodes.

Maybe make another char who doesnt go as hard into STR nodes or take CI anyway and live with the fact you wasted the life portion of the STR passives, doesnt STR give something else aside from life anyways?
its the same for life characters with high int

Well Templar is a hybrid between strength and intelligence, you cant "avoid" strength passives.

EDIT: it is already possible to convert evasion into armor or something like that. More different options would be nice

Not entirely true, you can go up and right and avoid almost all STR nodes. Besides, some builds have to be harder to do because otherwise it trivializes build diversity. I got another example, my dual wield claw/dagger Scion, not easy to do but thats the challenge.

And in invasion i made a staff/summoner marauder, you think i didnt waste passives there?

But, if you could convert wasted passives onto something else (maybe with some drawbacks), wouldnt you use it?

Also, it depends how many nodes you have wasted. In my opinion wasting over 300 strength is A LOT.

If you can do this, please work on applying Int bonus to life first.
ES is way stronger than life if you are rich (if you don't know why, just check all the lowlife builds. They are game breaking for real). Now you are going to buff ES more?

If you think 300 strength are a waste then you didnt plan the char very well. I mean what kind of char were you trying to build? And we cant have too many keystones or gems or items converting stuff to anything else just because someone says "i wasted points in STR now i need it for ES".

If you went CI with melee you get the STR bonus for melee phys damage. Thats it.

Nope. Keystones are supposed to be a trade-off. The benefit of CI is that you become immune to chaos; the cost is that you lose all your life (except 1 point). If you think you have so much life that getting rid of it would be a waste, don't take ES, and figure out some other way of dealing with chaos damage.
