My Jeweller's orbs are not working.

I'm in act 3 of the cruel. I can use a maximum of three times my jeweler's orbs on an item, then try to use on items with empty sockets and not equipped and does not work.
The following message appears: Failed to apply item. Make Sure That It's the right type, and in That It's equipped. If skill was a gem, make sure it is not in the socket. My items meet the requirements, yet the orb does not work. How can I solve this? Already grateful for any help you can give me. I do not know the game very well, so excuse me if I make a stupid question.  This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

It's not a bug, the number of sockets an item can have is dictated by the item level of the bit of gear, once the max number has been reached you can't use more jewelers on it(saves you wasting currency for something you'll never get)

The item has level? How do I know which level of my item?
