Is it viable to farm ORBs in Cruel

Heres ther thing -.-
ive used an orb by accident and destroyed my 270base dps 2h axe .........
now i have no linked sockets a low dps axe and no orbs to keep reroling it till i get what i had before or even get close to it ....i was about to start farming THE LEDGE in merciles
but not anymore .....i actualy did a few runs rapin the mobs and then i decided to add an aditional bonus to my axe and thats how i destroyed it
So my question is where shall i go in cruel to farm the orbs (mats) to roll a decent weapon again , and what do i need to make it eficient !!! ( the farm eficient)
any help is greatly apreciated

hell yeah man im farming docks with 6 people in cruel right now... why not?

Maybe you have some goodies in your stash. Try to trade them for orbs. People will give a lot of orbs for 10%+ skill gems

You can still find mat's BUT, every level you are over the zones level lowers the drop rate of crafting mats.

mmm no idea where to farm the mats then

in your case i would either try to trade a weapon, given you collected some currency, start a new char with a different type (it's always fun to have a use for items you find) or trade some currency to get a good roll on your current main weapon.

if you lack currency try farming "the ledge" or "fellshrine" in cruel for them. these are the least risky areas with high mob density.

Farming in PoE doesn't really work that way.

There isn't a "best orb farming spot" so to speak. The best way to accumulate currency orbs is to farm mobs in areas that are within (I believe) 4 levels of your character level. Simply being one or two levels above a zones monster level won't impact you negatively.

The reason for this is that when you outlevel the monster level a zone by more than that amount of levels, you receive a penalty to currency item drop rates (which increases the higher your character is above the monster level).

So just find an area with monster levels at the most a few below your character level and farm it up

Technically, assuming your kill speed is the same, you can farm currency orbs just as efficiently as a level 10 character in normal as you can as a level 60 in merciless.

basically you're righ but if he shreddered his main weapon he will hardly be capable to farm in areas on his actual level.
