flame totem + nycta's lantern

I'm wondering if flame totem benefits from the added fire "socket" in nycta's lantern?

It benefits in that X% of all physical damage it would deal gets converted to fire.

It doesn't actually benefit, though, since it deals no physical dmg. So, it really just sucks instead. This is the main reason Nycta's lantern is so bad.

If Nycta's lantern gave added cold dmg instead of added fire dmg, it would be amazing.

Yeah, it's a funny item, good for very few builds.

The only one of mine I want to use it on is dual shockwave avatar build.
