Downloaded .msi archive is corrupt.
So I downloaded the pathofexileinstaller.msi file, and when I go to extract the contents, it says that the .msi archive is corrupt. I have tried re-downloading it and deleting the 1 file that manages to be extracted, but the problem still persists. Any ideas?

Try running this from C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile: http://patch110.pathofexile.com:8095/patch/0.9.13.23/Client.exe

It's downloading the 4.5gb file. Excellent! :) Many thanks.

I just found out about this game and thought to give it a try but I'm having issues trying to install it. I can't even get it to start.
For me it says "The signature of PathOfExileInstaller.msi is corrupt or invalid." I would try the previous link but it is not found and seems to require that you already have the game downloaded considering ionface states: Try running this from C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile: which I suppose means that the game has already been downloaded. |

" Try using a different browser other than Internet Explorer to download the MSI, or go to your Download Manager and say "Run Anyway" or whatever it's called. This is a known issue with Internet Explorer due to some security settings meant to protect you from yourself. All the other browsers I know of don't have this issue. The other option is do do what ionface recommended and download the client.exe into that folder, then run it from there. |

I have the same problem, tbh this is throwing up a red flag for me. I do not have this issue with any other games that I play atm. This list being about 17 games long. I don't think I will be playing this one, damn shame really ;(

" Why is it throwing up red flags that Microsoft enabled a "security feature" in their latest browser that prohibits auto-running executables that aren't signed? It's an IE only feature, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the MSI package as long as you are downloading it from the correct source. My suggestion is to not use Microsoft's crap excuse for a browser, and switch to a REAL browser (that actually has proper HTML5 support) like Chrome or Firefox. There are ways to install the game without the MSI as have been linked, but you'll end up with the same stuff basically. Also... it is more and more common lately to sign your executables. Doesn't mean that unsigned ones are "insecure" by any means. It just means that they didn't use a microsoft signing key that is recognized by Microsoft's system (could it be because they are a small company?). Don't let this stupid error within a crappy product deter you from playing an awesome game, and supporting a great indie company rather than bully gaming powerhouses like EA, Activision, Blizzard, etc. If you need more assistance getting it to install, let us know. Good luck. |

Addendum to my other post:
This should not throw up red flags for you because MS caused this problem as can be seen here: http://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/800433/kb2870699-breaks-ie-msi-signature-validation So as I said before, it's not a GGG problem. Don't hate on GGG for problems Microsoft causes. |

Thanks for the info all. I just went and downloaded with another browser and voila. No problems. Excited to be able to try the game soon.
Also thanks for the link to the Microsoft site, always good to see how everyone else is being boned by them as well. |
