Bring one more item back to town

You can bring an item under your cursor back to town with this method. Say you are in a map with a full inventory, playing in windowed fullscreen or windowed mode.
1- Open Inventory.
2- Pickup the item so it is on your cursor.
3- Logout, Login to go to town. The item is still under your cusor.
4- Alt-tab, and while PoE does not have focus, click on the name of the Stash to open it.
5- Drop item in stash. Done.

You can use the same alt-tab trick to use a portal/waypoint instead of logout/login with an item under your cusor.

I figured this trick out while stuck with a 2x4 unique on my cursor with a full inventory after closing the stash. I couldn't find any other way to save the poor Death Harp.

Or you can just press 'Z' so that all names are displayed and click on the stash.

That will result in the game asking to destroy the item.

This trick actually requires that you display all names, otherwise there is no way to click the stash without destroying the item.

really though, why would you do this instead of just picking up that last item when you come back with empty bags? i dont get it

Because a lot of players don't want to enter the same cleared map again, or can't, if there were 6 people in the group.
