Bandit Quest in party bugs - important flaw.
Hi,
We are quite frustrated with what happened with us today. I was playing in a party on merciless act2 from start until the bandit quests. Now, on bandit quests we decided to seperate group to help/kill the bandit leaders. Unfortunately, due to miscommunication, some people started the quest to kill Alira, where in fact some of us wanted to help her. This bugged the quest for the ones who wanted to help. Now what happens is - the quest log remains unchanged. "You have killed Kaitlyn, but Oak and Alira still continues to..." This already shows we havent killed Alira. However, when we tried to open a new instance and do it outside of the party, Alira still offers help/kill options, but when you click help, it says I changed my mind and nothing happens. I relogged and started a new instance / tried solo and everything. It's completely bugged. And now what it seems is I have to kill Alira and refund through the ingame quest which is ridiculous considering the price is 20 regret orbs (equaling to almost 1 exalted orb) Its my first character in PoE and every bit of money counts at this point. I will need this Power Charge reward specifically for my build. I would really like to do something about this without getting penalized by a mechanical game flaw. Sorry its such a long post but I know some other people might have the same issue and needs some enlightment. Thank you. ----------------- TL;DR The Bandit quest bugs on party play where if players choose the different options in party, in different instances, the first kill/help accounts for the quest and people get stucked without completing. ----------------- Last edited by blisspoe#6380 on Nov 26, 2013, 6:25:39 PM

If you're offering to help her, then there should only be one choice...to change your mind and kill her. After you kill the other 2 bandits, go back to her and she'll agree that you helped her and give you the reward.
Maybe I'm not understanding your problem. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN> Play Nice and Show Some Class www.theamazonbasin.com Last edited by mark1030#3643 on Nov 26, 2013, 7:06:04 PM

When you were with your party and some people started the quest to kill Alira, did you choose kill and ended up killing her?
English is not my first language.

No, initially they wanted to kill and I wanted to help so while on the choosing, I portalled back. And they killed anyway.
So then I left party and started new instance through CTRL - Click. Although, Alira offered options it didn't let me help since the group killer her (probably) BUT good news! I have passed on Alira without killing her and went to kill Oak (wanted to see if quest would refresh itself). And after killing Oak, the quest updated telling me only Alira was left. So I went back to Alira and BAM. She accepted the help this time and I got my power charge. SO A TIP FOR THOSE STUCK ON PARTY BANDIT QUESTING If you haven't killed 2 already you can leave the bugged bandit and do the other. The bugged bandit resets after killing/helping the left over bandit. -Problem solved- |

She wasn't bugged. She was working with you having said you'd help her. That's why when you clicked on her, she asked if you wanted to change your mind. By changing your mind, you would be saying "yes, I want to change my mind and kill you even though I initially said I would help you". When you said you'd help her, you said you would kill the other bandits. She was waiting for you to actually do that. After you finally did do that, she gave you your reward. That's just how it works. No bugs.
