Staffblock = Caster Discrimination
Why are staffblock passives so anticaster ?

Staves are 2H melee weapons? They're intrinsically non-caster.
They do get caster stats, but they also offer casters a second 6L slot (worth way more than block, 6L spell totems are crazy) IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir

You can pick up Whirling Barrier and the nearby 3% block node with only one node wasted on weapon damage. I'd hardly call that anti-caster.

" That argument is invalid imho because there are shields nodes and those dont need "deadnodes". Its just bad design. Saying staves are 2H melee weapon while there are 3 uniq and 2 are caster is not very hard fact too. Staves suck as caster weapons because dual-wielding daggers/sceptres/wands provides the same block, but far better explicit mods (even after staff buff) + implicit mods too. There are no reasons to use rare staves as caster weapon, and i will grateful if GGG removes all caster mods from rare staves. Nobody uses these mods anyway.

Also, so do Searing Touch and Taryn's Shiver. " Lots of the shield nodes need 'dead nodes'. The shield block nodes above the witch, for eg, have one or two dead-nodes in the way, depending on your build. Weapon Mastery and Precise Interception is hard to get to as well for casters, and testudo is well out of the way of anything for a caster. The ones to the left of golem's blood have a 30% sheild defense node in the way too, which sucks for crest of pendarus (amongst other shields). Not to mention the Aegis cluster in the middle of nowhere. The problem isn't dead nodes, the problem is a lack of variety. There should be some staff block nodes in the serpent stance cluster, for eg. " offtopic... " In same time MOST of the shield nodes near casters (templar/witch/shadow) dont have "deadnodes" (phalanx,bulwark, aegis, deflection...). Thats the point, there are some staffblock nodes and all have "deadnodes" while shieldblock nodes dont have them at all (not counting ranged/duelist area, bcs no point at all when i talk about "casters"). ▄█▀█▀█
