/oos Hotkey + better CwDT leveling
|
Just two suggestions;
1) Have an /oos hotkey to save a few seconds having to type it. 2) With the changes to damage taken gem it has become unviable to use as, in my experience, your usually dead before you take enough damage to proc it. Instead of the current change perhaps make it so the gem gets better as you level it, with stats along the lines of the following. Damage Reduction 76%, reducing 4% per level to 0% at 20. Split total damage needed to proc into base damage and percentage damage. Base Damage 100, increasing 10 per level, 290 at level 20. Percentage Damage 60% of max life lost to proc, reducing 2% per level, 22% at level 20. This would mean that for a level 20 gem people with low life, 800 hp, will take 466 damage to proc the gem, whereas higher life, 2400 hp, will take 818 damage to proc the gem. This will mean that the higher your hp the lower the proportion of your hp needed to proc the gem, and stop low life builds from abusing it. It also means that on a 800 hp build you don't need to take 2.5k damage for a skill to proc. That's just my thoughts, glad to hear others on the subjects! I like both suggestions.
I can see where you are going with the base hp + % hp. You are trying to manage the problem of the extremes that only using one can provide. I still see a problem with this gem when it comes to builds focused around strong mitigation meaning not a lot of damage is taken causing the gem to proc very unoften. On the other hand, a strong life leech build with high dps (and maybe % life regen) can proc it all the time. I think a lengthening of the cooldown along with taking mitigated damage into account to some extent would even these two extremes out by a fair margin while also stopping the gem from becoming overpowered. Reading the topic, I was this was going to be about an /OOS skill gem that could be linked to CoDT. :)
I do agree, an /OOS hotkey would be nice, as I'm not a fan of macros. |

I would imagine an /oos gem would be popular among those with desync issues, who don't want to use macros.
" Perhaps alter the damage to proc to be similar to molten shell and proc after a certain amount of raw damage is taken instead of an amount of damage after mitigation. Last edited by Tomanomanous#2864 on Nov 14, 2013, 1:31:45 AM

I'll second the vote for a /oos hotkey. I personally use a macro for it, as I'm sure plenty of other people do. It'd be nice for something so useful in general play to be added to the game proper as a feature.

An /oos hotkey would be amazing i get desyncs all the time and mostly during the worst times
And i also think the OPs suggestion about cwdt is reasonable they just need to balance it more reasonably especially for roles (like a tank) which are the most obvious choice for who to use the gem |

The only reason there isn't an /oos hotkey is that GGG can't afford to have everyone spam it. It creates a lot of work for the server. Then again, maybe this is not such a problem now that /oos has a 10 second cooldown.

" If they ddos proofed the /oos hotkey it would make a very useful tool. |
