Rogue Exiles or Bosses Drop MTX Treasure Chests
This idea is similar to what Valve is doing with DOTA2.
When you kill a Rogue Exile or Boss or maybe a mob there's a chance it will drop a MTX Treasure Chest. The chest will contain a random cosmetic microtransaction. The chest cannot be opened until you purchase, from GGG's store, a treasure key. Treasure keys will unlock chests and give access to their contents. The price of treasure keys, then, would be based on the types of MTX loot you can get from MTX chests. Chests would contain all sorts of MTX from footprints, weapon effects, maybe multiple effects, to exclusive MTX (baby albino rhoa pet!). The idea is a loot-themed spin on buying and acquiring cosmetic microtransactions. Sometimes what you get will be more expensive than the key, sometimes it won't be. Keeping lots of cosmetic MTX exclusive to treasure chests would keep things interesting though as players wouldn't really know the values involved. Ultimately it would be a fun way to buy and acquire cosmetic MTX. Alternatively, MTX chests could be sold by GGG. If players end up getting multiples of the same MTX and it's a problem, then GGG could perhaps allow trade-ins for GGGold. What do you think? " I think this is in the top ten of WORST ideas yet to be put forth in front of GGG. This is but one step from going to Pay to win. Primarily because the micro transactions are the way GGG makes money. Making them drop off of boss's takes money out of GGGs pockets. Meaning they then have to sell keys or orbs or something else to support the servers or start charging a monthly fee. Last edited by SimianJyhad#5678 on Nov 6, 2013, 6:33:59 PM

" There is no pay to win here. You can find treasure chests in game. Or they can just appear in your inventory based on play time, like DOTA2. You can buy treasure keys from GGG. at an appropriate cost, which can then open the chests and give you an RNG microtransaction. It does not take money out of GGG's pockets. It's an RNG spin on paying for and acquiring microtransactions. If anything it would increase MTX revenue. Being able to buy a random microtransaction is an OK idea. Like a lucky dip.
Allowing us to sell back unwanted microtransactions for a full or even partial refund of points is a great idea. +1. Having bosses drop chests that have a random microtransaction that you need to pay to unlock is an annoying idea. I don't want unopened boxes cluttering my mtx stash, there's enough of that crap in tf2/etc already. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:
