Map and Monster Mod Suggestions

Some ideas popped up in my head about monster and map mods. So I decided to post them.

Some mods can apply to both maps and monsters. Monsters can come with the mod, or rares can give "Allies have ____".

First, mods that can apply to monsters and maps.
The idea behind mods is to make to things harder? Well, here goes :)


Monster and Map Mods

  • Slain Monsters grant allies a frenzy, endurance, and power charge.


  • Slain monsters deal 10% of their maximum life to you


  • Monsters are immune to status ailments and cannot be stunned


  • Slain monsters grant allies 10% more movement, attack speed, and accuracy





Map Mods

  • Players share their auras and charges with monsters. Monsters gain a 50% increased buff from auras


  • Players cannot use Auras


  • Players cannot gain Charges. Players cannot use Granite/Diamond Flask. Players cannot use totems/minions


  • Whispers of doom. Curses players cast are mirrored back. Mirrored curses never expire


  • Armor is converted into Evasion. Evasion is converted into Energy Shield. Energy shield is converted into Armor.


  • Players passive tree keystones are disabled


  • Players Damage support gems are disabled


  • Players mana and health are switched


  • Players take 40% more damage when not on low life (or take more dmg when above 50% health. Not sure which one yet)


  • Life leech leeches back mana. Mana leech leeches back life.


  • Life and mana leech apply instantly. Recovery from flask and regeneration have no effect


  • Players crit multiplier becomes 0. Monsters have a 50% chance to crit


  • Players defenses (armor/evasion/energy shield) are reduced by 50%. Players gain a 10% additional block chance.

Map mods:

Players lose 1% HP every 5 minutes

Players lose 1% accuracy every 3 minutes

Mana costs are doubled

You can't use certain spell

You get a zombie for every monster you kill

You get stunned every 5 minutes for 10 sec

For monster mods:

Just take a loot at other rpg games monsters mechanic and try to make something better. In any case do not make monsters that can i hit kill you if solo (not like belial in diablo 3). Make a monster that makes you to react at his spells like "Butcher" in diablo 3.
