[0.9.12.p] Maximum Critical Chance (95%) build for both Spell and Attacks

Since we're getting migrated soon, it's time to revisit that build I've always been doing every patch. This time with a bouns: I've completed the 95% critical chance with both spell (Ice Spear) and attack (Elemental Hit wand).

Let's start off with my main. This dude (or dudette) is showcased on Build of the week #10 in patch 0.9.11

His critical chance is 73.7% pre-charges. After patch I've managed to bump it up to 85.3% pre-charges.

So now it requires only 2 charges to reach maximum. Let's pew pew 2 monsters nearby with power siphon.
95% with 2 charges

Bonus: My weapon swap have a much slower wands (1.1) with higher crit, this raise it up to 91.7% pre-charges

Here's the build. It's lvl 75 but you can reach all core passives at around 60s

Let's move on to the 2nd character. Since the base critical chance of ice spear is much lower, I have to rely heavily on power charges (Voll's Protector). She currently need 5 to max it. If I can roll a perfect dagger and borrow maligaro from my main, she would only need 3.

Here's the build. It is literally the core build. I didn't have time to level her up and get some damage buff, %maximum mana to counter Voll, and defenses.

  • Final Notes

- Yes, this is very unpractical. For once, Ice spear get increased chance to crit during it's second phase which I wasted. Secondly, for the highest dps gain possible, one must be able to balance between critical chance and critical damage. For example a build with 50% crit and a tons of damage boost will do more damage than mine. Maxing critical chance requires you sacrifice many valuable stats.

- But damn well it's fun, you can shatter every single mobs you see with 1 hits. Necros is no longer a problem. Synergize well with on-crit effects.

- Before any one herp-derp Maligaro, 6L etc... It only reduce the amount of charges you need by 1. The 2nd characters demonstrate that you can easily reach it without expensive gear

- About a non-charges build that still reach 95%, it is possible. Hint toward building one is to take a look at my 0.9.8 characters and the Passive Twin Terror :)

@GGG Web Dude: This may be overlooked but I can't link secondary swap weapon from the website. I have to manually type "linkItem location="Weapon2"" for it to show up

I thought this was going to be 95% critical on both melee and spells on one character. I was about to put pants on my templar so he could crap them.

You just don't know yet, maybe your challenge is accepted :)

Edit: It is entirely possible, you can notice a lot of overlap between 2 builds. Maybe if I can reach lvl 80, having a couple of hundred chaos and divine to roll some crazy dagger and it's done.

Small bump. Updated for 0.9.12.u. There's virtually no changes. The new buff to gem quality raise the crit chance before charges to 88.5%

Edit: Patch 0.9.13: Undocumented changes to skill tree, gained 5% critical strike chance, new value 89.1% before charges

And the truth is revealed!

I am currently playing as a dual-wand shadow and was wondering what a practical crit chance was given
that I can eventually attack at 2.5 /sec. :D

Probably ~50% mark pre-charges, I also thought. I wonder if all those wand passives are actually worth the effort, in place of, say, twin terrors... ^^
