Diminishing value of transmutation orbs during endgame?
It could be due my noobishness, but I am getting a feeling that transmutation orbs lose their value as you progress (I am lvl67) and especially when you reach end game. Don’t get me wrong I do use them quite often, it’s just that my supply keeps growing and growing and I can't find what to do with them. Nobody is willing to trade anything for them? May be it is intended that way, to have a “less valuable” currency item? Or may be I am missing a recipe. I would love to have them vendored for alterations (rather than scrolls), just saying

Use them to buy better orbs from Nessa and Yeena.
4 Orb of transmutation -> Orb of augmentation 4 Orb of augmentation -> Orb of alteration 2 Orb of alteration -> Jeweler's orb 4 Jeweler's orb -> Orb of fusing 3 Jeweler's orb -> Chromatic |

" I vendor my transmutation orbs for wisdom scrolls, at 4 per orb. Using all these scrolls to identify items usually results in more orbs than buying up (64 scrolls of wisdom for 1 alteration worth of transmutations at the vendor, usually identifies about 8-10 alterations worth of blue items). People also buy stacks of wisdom scrolls for much more than 1 alteration. |
