Help and Information - Possible to login to the PoE2 client w/out Steam? - Forum

I wasn't thinking when I originally made my account/character and installed on Steam but I'd like to be able to play PoE2 without Steam being on. Is that possible with the version of the game you can download straight from https://www.pathofexile.com/download ? You just need a primary login method associated with your account, which you should be able to manage here. That should allow you to log into the stand-alone client with those credentials. So I'm trying to link my email but apparently I had some PoE1 account from back in 2012 tied to it. I deleted that account but when I try to use the email for the account I'm using now I get this message: " The Email account associated with this request is already linked to another Path of Exile account. Current Account: ******** Existing Account: ******** Proceeding with this request will permanently associate your accounts. You will not be able to merge any further accounts with the same login methods (Email) to this Path of Exile Account. This action cannot be undone. Will that be a problem? How did you sign into the website? Did you use the option to sign in through Steam? GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.
