The Timer for map reset become ridicolously short!
Its the second time that I n an act, I am at a boss, I fail the fight (after of course spending a lot of time to get to it) I TP to town, make a few modifications and go back in the portal, only to find myselmf back at the start of the map with all the enemies respawned, we are talking below 5 minutes.
If you must find ways to keep people longer in game, we all know thats a thing, at least try find something less annoying and a bit more subtle because this is really silly. I rather have a longer teleport or to have to walk longer netween vendors than this. Its just infuriating and normally just makes me get out of the game for the day. If there HAS to be a timer, it should be at least 20 minutes. For the rest, good as usual. Thanks. Last bumped on Sep 4, 2025, 11:40:43 AM

" Has to be a timer? I mean, they're not going to keep your instances forever (and I don't think you'd want them to?). It's worth bearing in mind that 1) typically, when someone leaves a zone it's because they are finished there, and, 2) every minute added to the timer results in appreciable increases to hosting fees. Each physical server can only maintain a certain number of instances at any one time. The longer each idle instance sticks around for, the larger the number of servers GGG will need to pay for to accommodate the same number of players. If it really was less than five minutes then, well - that sounds like a bug. But I don't see them guaranteeing 20+ minutes any time soon. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" Interesting theory, but it doesnt work like that, first, there is a teleport for a reason, if you finish the zone you normally dont need to teleport because you got waypoints, the teleport can be to refill your mana and health flasks, to go and sell something, to go change an item or a skill to fight a specific boss or mobs and so on, secondly, your hosting theory is very original but untrue, the only reason why there is a timer within a map is to heve people stay longer in game, which is what logically needs to happen to justify the game to be alive, as the timer just holds a session which in data could be a few irelevant kb, and you are still online... having said that, I played since the release, i have 4 char 94 96 97 and this one 41 plus a few hard core, its the first time i notified such short timer as i always (as everyone else) tp out, go sell something, have a snack, take the dog out ,make few changes and see how the mob reacts to them, and its now the third time i go back after few minutes and everything is wiped and im at the start, same for mobs when you die and respawn, also mobs respawn and if you had something killed before you died the items arent there anymore, it was never like that(, so it has to be some changes and the timer one is not clever, is all. |
