Speaker of the Dead Keystone Question

With this allocated, are Tormenteed Spirits still be considered to be unique monsters even though they can no longer possess mobs, but players instead?

Allocate the keystone, chuck in a Torment scarab, and mouse over a ghost. I am pretty certain that it's still a unique mob.
