Question about rarity support interaction with bane

Hello if I have Bane - Despair - rarity support linked and debuff enemies with that and then cast something like soulrend or ED to finish them off, do i get the increased rarity ?

so if there is bane dot and ed/soulrend dot on the target how do i know which dot the enemy dies from ?
i know in the wiki it says that it works with contagion, but im not sure if the interaction with bane is the same | |

you dont know which dot kills the enemy.
contagion spreads ED. nothing spreads bane. |
