Weapon Elemental Damage and Global Crit

I apologize I don't know how to link items that I have ingame to the forum.


But I'm currently using a stiletto. It has a 40% global crit chance increase, it also has 7-18 cold damage increase which is listed at the top of the weapon description also as "Weapon Elemental Damage."


With both the global crit chance and the added weapon elemental damage effect my freezing pulse and other cold based spells?

Global Crit, yes, it will affect spells.

+7-18 Cold Damage will not as the spell is a spell and not a weapon-based attack. Support gems such as Added Lightning Damage will, however, modify spells.

Ok I figured out how to link the item.


so as you can see here there is the "global crit increase" --- I'm pretty sure this effects my cold based spells.

There is also down at the bottom, "added cold damage." my question is since it only says added cold damage and not "added cold damage to weapon" then this will be added to spell damage as well.

I realize that up at the top that "added elemental damage" will be added to physical attacks as well. But will the modifier also apply to spell damage?

That's a good link to explain things.

So the 40% global crit will apply to your spells.
The 7-18 cold damage will only apply to attacks, not spells.
The 11% increased critical strike chance is local to the weapon, and will only apply to attacks, not spells.
Obviously, the attack speed has no effect on spells.

And the +1 wil effect all cold skill gems :)

But yes cool weapon to demonstrate different bonuses.
