How do you generate power charges as a melee build right now?

Last time I played a melee build it was still possible to use herald of ice + curse on hit + assasin's mark in order to generate power charges in maps.

How do melee builds generate power charges now? It seems that there are a lot of clunky ways of generating power charges and most of them are not useful for a melee build.

Is it possible to automatically cast Assasin's mark somehow? It says it gives 100% chance for a power charge, but I really really don't want to cast that thing automatically on each an every enemy.

you can still get an "assassins mark on hit" Shaper mod ring.

though be aware, this counts as a trigger, and you will have to pay the mana cost every time it triggers.

According to craftofexile.com, PCoC is still the only Critical modifier available on Crusader body armours, so you can literally guarantee this modifier on any Crusader body armour with a relatively common Harvest craft. Like using an Essence, but gated by your willingness to TFT and/or your encounter RNG.

Are you talking about this mod: "Trigger Level # Assassin's Mark when you Hit a Rare or Unique Enemy" ?
Can it be really used to sustain power charges? I've never tried it, but since it is only for rare or uniques it sounds like the charges will fall off before you can stack them to 3 or 4.

huh, thats actually my bad. i never looked close at the assassins/poachers mark mods, and assumed they worked more like the other curse on hit rings that affect everything.

but i guess that makes sense theyre different, because you can only have 1 marked enemy at a time.

unless you're zoooooming and using nemesis zana mod, probably cant sustain this way.



have you considered anointing "disciple of the forbidden" ?

Yeah, that's not a bad idea! Maybe that will work well in combination with a ring that auto-casts the Assassin's mark.

I did want to spend the annointment on something like a strong HP noode though. The Ranger + SHadow part of the tree still has hilariously low hp passives.

You can always use something like Stormbrand - Inc Crit - Power Charge on Crit
Very basic 3l that will max out your powercharges in no time.

Good old Romira´s Banquet ring could fit that role as well to an extend, if you cant sacrifice a 3l.
Stormrider notable on Lighting or Cold cluster give Powercharge when shock a chilled enemy.

Farruls fur gives em.
I am using static strike+culling+power charge on crit on raider. If you have slow aps or you simply offscreen stuff then Stormrider notable on elemental builds and as last resort power charge on crit on body armor. Assassin's Mark is usually sufficient for mapping.
