Need Crafting Advice on Body Armour

Trying to craft an end or endish game chest piece for my build to get some practice at crafting with the available tools since I haven't done much crafting.

It is for a self cast Exsanguinate Trickster

If I missed an option or a step if you could please let me know I would appreciate it!

I bought the base and alt spammed to get

Phys taken as Ele
Chance to Gain an Frenzy Charge on Hit

I want to get at least

48% quality for attempting the 6L
Life
Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments
Chance to Avoid Stun

Tools at my disposal, I have a T3 Hillock in Fortification and a T3 Aisling in Research and need to get one more safehouse to get Catarina to pop.

Pretty much any T4 Aisling Veiled Prefix would be good and would leave a prefix open, though I would be a little sad if it hit +(3201–4000) to Armour during Soul Gain Prevention since Acrobatics would cut that in half, but sometimes armour is still armour.

If I hit a suffix (mod pool is just too big to guaranteed a desirable outcome) I could just remove via crafting bench.

So I think my options are (leave Syndicate out of it)
1. imprint
2. regal hoping for one open prefix and two open suffixes
3. Multi-mod Life (assuming I didn't hit a good life roll on regal) and Quality

Go for the Prize

3. have Aisling add a veiled mod
3a. remove if suffix
4. Multi-mod Life and Quality

I learned that that there was a flaw in my plans which is that multimod counts as a crafted mod, so you can only have 2 crafted mods + mulitmod.

Process so far

1. Buy i86 Redeemer Carnal Armour (Sadist Garb would probably have been a better choice in retrospect due to how Escape Artist works, but we learn)
2. Alt spam to hit
-Phys taken as Cold
-Chance to gain Frenzy Charge on hit
3. Get super lucky and hit it in like 200 Alts
4. 20% quality
5. Buy a Craicic Chimeral
6. Create an imprint
7. Regal
8. Hit T8 Cold Res (sadge)
9. Yolo Annul and remove cold res

for step 3 it is probably easier to just Awakener Orb with a throw away influenced chest piece with Phys Taken as Ele. The odds are that bad at least according to Craft of Exile.

The mod pool for prefixes are pretty much all good or at least situationally useful, but you will not be able to craft life on the chest piece because we also want % chance to avoid elemental ailments.

The suffix pool is more varied, some are useful, some not so much, but it leaves an open prefix for crafting on life.

As I understand it putting a veiled mod on an item counts as a crafted mod at least until it is unveiled and thereafter it is NOT considered a crafted mod.

So you can't craft Suffixes Cannot Be Changed to block Suffixes without Mulitmodding first. This might be worth it if I could guarantee a particular prefix but I don't believe that is possible.

If my budget were tighter I would probably multimod life and % chance to avoid elemental ailments and have a pretty good chest piece.

But going with the Aisling veiled mod gives me one additional mod that I wouldn't otherwise be able to get on the chest piece.

if I hit a veiled prefix (Veiled)

1. Reveal prefix
2. Craft 18% quality
3. throw jewelers and fusings at it until it 6 links.*
4. Remove crafted mods
5. Craft Multimod
6. Craft % Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments
7. Craft whatever suffix makes sense

if I hit a veiled suffix (of the Veil)

1. Reveal suffix
2. Craft 18% quality
3. throw jewelers and fusings at it until it 6 links.*
4. Remove crafted mods
5. Craft Multimod
6. Craft % Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments
7. Craft Life

*other options would be to use Harvest or Prophecies depending on what you have available/your budget. I currently don't have the appropriate Harvest Crafts or Prophecies.

Final product turned out about as good as I could have hoped.

-Harvest divine to get Phys taken as Cold to maximum
-T4 Hillock 30% quality via Catarina Safehouse
-T4 Aisling veiled mod via Catarina Safehouse got a prefix (Veiled)
-Unveil to reveal Chance to avoid elemental ailments and chance to avoid stun*
-Crafted Int + 18% quality
-6 socketed (did not track the # of jeweller's orbs, guessing around 50)
-6 linked 1037 fusings (ouch, but yay!, my first ever hand 6linked chest piece :)
-1 chromatic orb to color (in theory it should have taken about 30)
-Remove crafted mods
-Mulitmod
-Craft Life
-Crafting Lightning and Chaos Res

*Will possibly try to divine with Harvest, but AS IS with a helmet craft of 25% chance to avoid elemental ailments I am sitting at 101% chance to avoid elemental ailments. This is pretty sweet as it allows me to NOT craft that on my gloves leaving the potential open for another modifier that I want.

Dear GGG I am not a fan of how rare 6linking is. Does it feel good to hit it? Yes, but that 1000+ fusings (and I got relatively lucky) is ouch, ouch, ouch. I am not looking forward to trying to 6L a 20% quality unique chest piece or weapon.

Things I learned.

-How to Imprint
-PoEdb\mod is your friend (I guess reaffirmed rather than learned)
-You can't re-roll crafted mods that you've added via Multi-mod
-As with normal unveils, the Aisling T4 add a veiled mod gives you 3 options to choose from when unveiling
-Thinking through the crafting process

What could I have improved with unlimited currency?

I would probably have used a Sadist's Garb as a base for the higher Evasion and because of the interaction with the Trickster Ascendancy Notable Escape Artist and I probably would not have added the implicit Quality does not Increase Defense Grants +1 to Maximum Life per 2% quality.

I would have Maven Orbed two appropriate bases with the elevated versions of #% Chance to Gain a Frenzy Charge On Hit and #% of Physical Damage Taken as Fire/Lightning.

And shot for T1 life.

That would be about as perfect as I could get assuming also hitting % chance to avoid elemental ailments with the application of the veiled mod via Aisling.
