That omfg moment when u deleted wrong Char

Yep..not paying attention talking to wife..and instead of deleting a standard Character you delete you one and only main in Ultimatum.. that sick feeling of what have I done..and then the embarrassment of what a frigging moron.

This is exactly why confirmation boxes don't work. If you don't pay attention to the action, you're not going to pay attention to the confirmation box either. They need a better system... like a 24 hour cooling-off period.

They'll usually restore accidentally deleted characters.

Why should they give people a 24hr 'cooling-off' period? If someone has so little control that they are going to delete their character because of lack of emotional control (often anger), then they should have to face the consequences of that.


Or, we could implement a 'maybe delete' button so all the award winners and badge hunters could super-cozy up to the idea of deletion before actually pulling the trigger a few days later.

Maybe adding having to manually type in character name before deleting?

And/or after deletion, do not delete it immediately, but add "scheduled to be deleted in 1 hour" flag and delete after timer expires (1 hour is just an example, can be anything from 15 mins to whatever)?

they do work. Sometimes. Like when the migrate button is so close to character button it's easy to accidently hit but confim is in middle of screen. I almost accidently migrated a few times and was saved from trade hell by confirms.

To offer a counter point ...

I have a bunch of names I like. When a new league is about to start, I pick several (old) characters whom I decide are the least important, strip them of everything I care about and then wait.

When the new league actually starts, I then delete and then recreate a new character with the old name right away.

A delay or cooldown timer on actually deleting a character would be something that would be very annoying to me.
