Ridiculous mob damage buff

Just play a T16 burial chamber with my Standard lv. 96 incinerate elementalist.

NO damage mod in this map. And I'd taken primal aegis.

But my elementalist died 6 times! Instantly killed by yellow mobs.

Yellow mobs remove my 80% life by just 1 hit!

I'm pretty sure my elementalist is very fine to loot T16 maps in previous leagues, I played her for many leagues!

Did you have a Sirus influence? I've heard Sirus mobs hit pretty hard.
There is a new mechanic in maps. Sirus can invade random maps and influence rare mobs. Dominated by Sirus rare mobs do chaos damage and not in small amounts. I've taken 1-2k dmg hits with 68% chaos resistance so I can imagine people with little to no chaos resistance getting wrecked.

Yes, damage is too unreasonable. Those mobs even have Unwavering Stance, I can't stun them.
Your build has practically no defenses. The only defensive mechanism you have is phase acro, thats it. If you want to play a squishy character in T16 maps, then you need to have bring a good amount of clear + DPS to back that up. My Fire BV character in Heist was technically squishy as hell, but practically never died because it had superb aoe and clear.

For any other character that I play, I ensure that it has good defensive mechanisms in place, which is achieved by layering defenses or heavily investing in a powerful mechanic like block - especially if I plan on taking it to T16 maps and other end game bosses.

Edit: Funnily enough, even that paper thin Fire BV character I played has almost 1.5x the phys EHP of your build.

And I do not want to play a squishy char, just GGG's balance problem. It's too hard and too limit to build elementalist's defense.

I used to be an adventuring mapper too, but then I took a die-beam to the knee. It definitely was to the knee and not a bit above that, to the side... :S
I havent noticed increased chaos damage yet.

But if there is something going on with chaos damage now then the Keystone Chaos Inoculation is a serious design flaw in this game simply because it provides chaos damage mmunity. And a lot of top tier builds run ES and take CI as the cherry on top. Energy Shield as a build concept is powerful enough already.

Chaos Inoculation needs to be reworked if GGG wants to introduce chaos damage as a new all present difficulty layer without excluding CI/ES build.

Otherwise its essentially taking a big dump on already weaker life builds (based on the top end scale of things).

i doubt it is JUST chaos damage

Sirus-influenced rares have simply one zero too many. source: Low Life 83%+ chaos res guardian

ONE SHOT in a blue map (no dmg mods). 10k ES, 20k+ AR, 4 endurance charges, ailment immunity. one shot. this char can survive Die beam.. just to make things clear.

I kinda understand the 'sirus invasion' concept, it kinda makes sense. but the numbers on these mobs and sirus itself? they do not. Sirus moves are a death-sentence to any slow moving/clearing build - you cannot dodge things you cannot see. and you wont see Rain of Stars because it is obscured by all the usual junk. and RoS deals regular A8 damage so it WILL kill you if clustered

give reddit one more day to reach T14 maps with 5+ charges maven so they can experience all the numbers

difficulty is not adding '0' at the end of damage value..

I've played for like 20 hours overall this weekend, which is more than twice my usual playtime, i killed Sirus and every conqueror at least twice during that time, means i've had quite a few influenced maps, many of them with Sirus invasion and i had exactly 1 map where i had oneshot issues. And that was a posessed rare with Cutthroats grip and a bunch of other damage mods in an already beefy map. The rest were whatever.

Guess i am playing a different POE then the rest of this forum.
