Storm Secret + Recover #% es on block.

One of my friend is playing around storm secret new unique ring.

I try to look up at the interaction but I only found older post from 3-5 year old talking about similar interaction.

1- Can you block storm secret damage taken. (Pretty sure you can)
2- If you do, can you trigger "Recover %Es on block" from it. (Unsure)

From what I read and understand from a really old post, it does block but count as reflected damage, and as it doesn't trigger on block effect -> "Recover %Es on block"

Can someone confirm it ?

is it possible?
I don't think you can block that as it is count as reflected damage and reflected damage cannot be blocked.
You can block, evade and dodge reflect dmg, but self dmg is no reflect. If it was elementalist would be immune...
By referring to Scold's Birdle, we can safely label Storm Secret's damage as Secondary Damage (and not Reflect, since it says "Take 250 Lightning Damage" and not "Reflect 250 Lightning Dmaage). Secondary damages like that do Hit and will count for Cast when Damage Taken and similiar things, but will not trigger other on-Hit effects.

Now, Secondary Damage (which is neither Spell nor Attack damage) long time ago could not be blocked, evaded or dodged, since there was no such thing as "block secondary damage" or "dodge secondary damage". However, since 3.4, Secondary Damage from skills can now be blocked, dodged or evaded depending from the skill that dealt that damage. This was mostly a nerf made to Explosive Arrow, which explosions (secondary damage) were really good against Hall of Grandmasters and PvP in general.

That said, Storm Secret is not a Skill, therefore the 3.4 "nerf" does not apply to that.

So no, you cannot block/dodge Storm Secret's self damage, only mitigate it and use it for autobombing purpose.

Also no, you cannot exploit Cast when Stunned since back when Scold's Bridle was released there was an hotfix for infinite loops (and server crash) caused by clever exiles who ran it with Chaos Inoculation and made them hyper-sensible to stuns
