Vulkan causing stuttering/frame pacing issues with OBS

When doing graphically intensive scenes using the vulkan renderer and NVENC encoder through OBS frame pacing will be erratic but OBS shows no dropped frames. The frames are still being created and sent to the streaming platform but they are not uniformly paced.

Visual example from AphelionPOE's stream on twitch using Cyclone + CWC Whispering Ice. Also occurred with Cyclone + CWC Desecrate volatile dead build. Did not test on builds that didnt include Cyclone. I couldn't discern full MTX set being used.

I was trying to change game resolution, fps cap in game, encoder preset, fps in output video, game window mode. Probably each single option in game/obs.
Hope GGG can test, approve and fix it before 3.11 start.
SOLVED (for me):

Hey guys,

i've had the same issue with stuttering frames on OBS recordings/streams, when using Vulcan (beta) renderer.
On my 2 PC streaming setup (connected via OBS ndi-plugin) the OBS on the gaming PC (!) was capturing PoE via 'screencapture' due to the issue that it didn't work for me with 'gamecapture" on OBS v23.0.x.y.z in the past. So i reconsidered my OBS setting:

---> finally
- an update to OBS 25.0.8
- setting OBS to capture PoE via 'Gamecapture' as source

simply solved the stuttering frame issue for me.

Hope i could help you with this! :)

Setup:
Ryzen 2700X
GeForce 1070ti
32gb RAM
Win 10

Yes. I concur. I changed my setting from Display capture to game capture and everything was gucci flip flops. Another pro tip is to run OBS as administrator 200iq 5 Head plays!!
