Malediction
"When you Kill an Enemy, for each Curse on that Enemy, gain 8%
of Non-Chaos Damage as extra Chaos Damage for 4 seconds" If I have, for example, 1000 of cold damage and convert 50% of it to fire, and I had 5 curses (8%x5= 40%) in a monster I just killed; how much added chaos damage I would get, if I had 10% increased fire damage? 40% of 1000 anyway, or 40% of 500, then 40% of 500x1,1 (the 10% increase)? 1000 cold, 50% cold → fire, 10% increased fire
= 1000 / 2 = 500 cold damage = 1000 / 2 * (1 + .10) = 550 fire damage 8% non-chaos → chaos, 5 curses 1050 * .08 * 5 = 420 chaos damage However, damage is never this straight forward. |

"This isn't quite correct. Elemental/non-Chaos as Chaos counts converted damage both as its original type and its final type, as well as any types it was converted through, which is what makes Eternity Shroud builds so stupidly strong. In this case the Malediction bonus sees 1000 Cold damage, and (1000 * 50%) = 500 Fire damage. You gain 400 Cold -> Chaos and 200 Cold -> Fire -> Chaos damage. The Cold -> Fire -> Chaos is then scaled by your Fire damage modifiers, for a total of 620 Chaos damage. |
