Issues with 'Ransomware protection/Controlled Folder Access' Windows 10 (1903)
|
I've turned on Ransomware protection/Controlled Folder Access (New feature in Win 10 1903) and now the minimaps are in a undiscovered stage after I portal out and back.
Ransomware protection works in a way that Windows creates a white-list of apps that are allowed to write to my documents or other optional protected folders. I have the game installed in D:\Games\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile and white-listed the following apps: "D:\Games\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\PathOfExile.exe" "D:\Games\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\PathOfExile_x64.exe" The issues with the mini maps remains. Any suggestion? Last bumped on Oct 1, 2019, 3:16:26 PM

Yes I know where the minimaps are stored.
The game has access to the documents folder and subfolders but it seems that choosing PathOfExile.exe and PathOfExile_x64.exe as a whitelist for 'Controlled Folder Access' is not enough. |

this is not a GGG bug so this post should have been made under the Help part of the forum.

" Whitelisting Client.exe solved the problem! When you've been affected by ransomware before then you are appreciate such paranoid features in windows :D |

Then don't open random emails or visit websites you know nothing about. You don't get those sort of things just by random.
No rest for the wicked.
